Job description

We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support the SEA2273 Sub-Program within the ICT Delivery Division of the Department of Defence. This role focuses on managing technical project delivery for Navy platforms and will involve close collaboration with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute detailed plans for Navy platforms.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders (NSG-SPO, ISSC, NI&IWB).
  • Facilitate and approve problem resolution requests (RPR) and work closely with SEA2273 Installation and Engineering Managers.
  • Identify engineering risks, issues, and opportunities, and provide specialist engineering advice.
  • Prepare relevant engineering documentation, manage costs, and conduct due diligence on contractor surveys.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Proven experience as a Systems Engineer in Defence, particularly within technical project delivery.
  • Familiarity with RAN platforms and Navy AD514 engineering processes.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience in Defence maritime environments and with SEA2273 projects.
  • Knowledge of Defence Capability Lifecycle Projects and experience with Ship Class SPOs and ISSCs.
  • Military/APS/Contractor experience is advantageous.

Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel interstate and board Navy ships during maintenance periods (PPE and White Card required).
  • Compliance with US ITAR regulations for handling export-controlled ICT products.

Security Clearance: Minimum NV1 clearance is mandatory.
