About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Developer to join a government agency in a full-time contract role. This position involves delivering high-quality software development solutions for systems that support the integrity of essential national services. You will be working on complex projects that require strong problem-solving skills, expert technical knowledge, and the ability to manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Software Development: Design and develop custom workflows using SAS and/or Python programming. Test and debug SAS code to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilise SAS procedures for data analysis, visualization, and reporting. Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
  • Collaboration & Support: Work closely with data analysts and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Provide technical support and guidance to the team.
  • Documentation & Best Practices: Maintain comprehensive documentation of all workflows. Follow coding standards and best practices to ensure quality and efficiency.

Skills and Experience:

Must Have:

  • 2+ years of experience with the SAS Viya platform, products, and architecture.
  • Expertise in front-end programming frameworks such as Angular or ReactJS.
  • Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, scripting languages, REST APIs, and cloud computing technologies.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions using SAS System applications.

Desirable:

  • Proficiency in data manipulation, statistical analysis, and data visualization using SAS.
  • Familiarity with SAS Visual Investigator and Python for data engineering tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant degree in IT, Computer Science, or Data Analytics and certifications in SAS programming.
